We have had several members of our church that have gone on different mission trips.  One to Mozambique, Africa and the others to Tela, Honduras.

It all started with a team that went to Tela, Honduras in the summer of 2008.  Then another team went last summer (2010) to Tela, where they helped minister to them physically and spiritually.  Both teams worked with the churches in Tela and a Christian Honduran doctor.  Along with medical work (seeing almost 900 people!), they did children's ministry in several schools and neighborhoods, and a construction project.  They worked with a team of Honduran Pastors who had invited them to come and share the good news of Jesus along with them.  Our Pastor and his wife, Cheryl, went this past winter, and held a marriage seminar for the pastors and their wives in Honduras  A team, including people from both trips to Tela, plan to go again in the summer of 2012!

Charissa and Bethany Walton went from June 16,-July 29, 2008 to live with the Kawendes family in Mozambique.  They taught in a small, three-room schoolhouse that provides education for over 750 students in the village.  Classes started as early as 7am and didn't end until 10pm, where they take shifts throughout the day in order to  facilitate to all of the children!  Besides running a school and church plant, the Kawendes have opened up their home to forty orphan boys ages 2-12.  Bethany and Charissa were so excited to have gotten to know these children and invested a lot of their time loving and caring for them.   So much so, that Bethany left and spent two years there!  You can get more information regarding Bethany's life serving in Africa @ www.yomission.org.

In the past, we've sent support to a missionary in Mexico, and have had two people on two short-term mission trips to South Africa and the Philippines in 2007. We also have people who have been on short-term mission trips to Romania, Bulgaria, New Mexico, Mozambique and Nicaragua as well!
